Characteristic Spindekast

(SOLD)

Characteristic Spindekast (pantry) in beautiful blond/honey-colored oak.

The wide side posts are immediately noticeable and are an indication of early furniture.

A simple piece of furniture with the the arches  as only decoration in the side posts.

The surface-mounted wrought iron hinges in a butterfly shape and the pear-shaped pulls are also early, I estimate 17th century.

But it could certainly be older because this piece of furniture was made in an early tradition and would not have seemed modern in 1550.

For example, these proportions with those wide side posts and hinges are also seen on Gothic furniture.

In the countryside, traditions were patient.

The cabinet is made in beautiful quartersawn oak.

Very solidly made.
