Rare and virtually unique piece of furniture:

a mid-17th-century table cabinet – circa 1650.

Table cabinets from the 17th century are already rare – this one has a dream interior for the numismatic collector.

Exceptionally beautifully made with beautiful and artistic carving of acanthus leaves and, in the center of the door next to the diamond, sea-creature-like griffins.

Beautiful and deep patina.

I have waxed this piece several times with wax that I make myself.

In addition to real beeswax from the beekeeper, I also use carnauba wax.

This gives the wax an extra shine.

The interior is certainly also special: in the 18th or 19th century, it was fitted with six drawers – intended for storing coins and medals.

Jewelry would certainly also be a possibility.

The felt is old but clean and has a subtle, subdued olive green color.

The lock is original, as is the key. (It works.)

Below the door is a wide drawer.

This drawer was later fitted with adjustable compartments.

Beautiful side panels: quarter-sawn oak.

Next to the door, the stiles feature beautiful pilasters with fluting.

For a coin collector, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
