Set of 4 MR10 chairs of Ludwich Mies van de Rohe.

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's MR 10 chair was designed in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany.

Ludwig was a leading designer within the Bauwhaus movement.

He later became director of the School for Applied Arts in Amsterdam, later renamed the Rietveld Academy.

The cantilever design (Freischiwnger) of the chair uses steel tubes, thus a technological innovation, to create an ergonomically accessible and intuitive seat.

When asked why he made chairs with generous seats, Mies van der Rohe replied that he would design chairs in which it would be more comfortable to sit.

The MR 10 armchair was produced in 1967 by Knoll International.

The set on offer consists of 4 chairs produced by Knoll from the 1960s with a chromed steel structure covered in the classic thick black leather.

The conditions of use are very good as the chairs have been used very little. Structures intact and robust with light traces of oxidation and leather upholstery with only light traces, also robust and sleek.
